1980s
A grass-roots community minded group called the Highland Erie Project lead by George Robinson, Sr. and Fred Fleet, Sr. was formed.

2001 
Highland Ridge CDC (HRCDC) became incorporated and a 501c(3).

2006 
HRCDC received a $500,000 grant from the State of Pennsylvania Dept. of Community Economic and Development Elm Street Program. 

2013 
HRCDC completed Elm Street Program grant. 


2014  
Began our Mending Fences Program

History

Highland Ridge Community Development Corp is a 501c(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to help improve the educational, social, and economic climate of the community. We strive to make Washington, PA a safer, cleaner, more beautiful, and prosperous place to live, work, worship, and play.

HRCDC's award-winning flagship program is the Mending Fences campaign.  Mending Fences assists low-income homeowners who are seniors, veterans, or have a permanent physical disability, and live in an owner-occupied homes in need of repair.
